The World's Largest and Most Advanced Hospital Ship Delivered Successfully!

On 16th June, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and Tianjin Xingang Shipyard (TXS) delivered “Global Mercy”, the world's largest and most advanced hospital ship, to an NGO. Representatives of all parties attended the delivery ceremony and signed the delivery documents.
Global Mercy is designed and built by Tianjin Xingang shipyard. Deltamarin provided supports in design, while Stena RoRo AB provided project management services. She has a overall length of 174.1 meters, a model width of 28.6 meters, a design draft of 6.15 meters, a service speed of 12 knots. Global Mercy, classified by Lloyd’s Register, is built in accordance with luxury cruise standards in terms of comfort and safety.
With 12 decks, “Global Mercy” has space for up to 950 people on ship when she is docked; it is equipped with six operating theatres, 200 in-patient beds, and other laboratories, clinics. Its comfort level meets DNV COMF V(2) standards for passenger ships. Her accomodation design adopts European standards, far beyond that of average cruises and ROPAX. Meanwhile, there are cabins, family suites, restaurants, cafes, shops, as well as sightseeing and leisure areas on other decks.

CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding Hits Suezmax Milestone
Recently, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (QBS) have inked a contract with a renowned Greek owner for the construction of one Suezmax tanker. This latest deal brings the total number of QBS’s Suezmax orders to three, marking the significant entry of the shipyard into this key ship type newbuilding segment.

On January 16, 2026, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC) signed shipbuilding contracts with a renowned European shipowner for 2 firm plus 2 option units of 114,000 DWT product tankers, marking CSSC’s first product tanker order in 2026.
