CSSC successfully hosted the Hamburg Maritime Promotion during SMM 2026

The CSSC Hamburg Maritime Promotion was successfully held on September 1, 2026, the opening day of the 32ndSMM, in Hamburg, Germany. Mr. Xu Peng, Chairman of CSSC, attended the event and delivered a keynote address.

Organized by China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), the event aimed to strengthen global industry dialogue and deepen cooperation with world-class partners on shipping decarbonization and digitalization.
During the conference, CSSC experts presented low- and zero-carbon vessel designs, full lifecycle integrated services and solutions for high-end custom-built ships as well as the latest progress on WinGD’s high-pressure LNG dual-fuel and ammonia dual-fuel engines. The Managing Director of Peter Döhle Group, as a guest speaker, voiced strong expectations for long-term, in-depth cooperation with CSSC.
In the keynote address, Xu Peng highlighted CSSC’s solid progress in high-end, green and smart transformation, and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to open and win-win cooperation with global partners. As a frontrunner in the global shipbuilding industry, CSSC has achieved key technological breakthroughs, built a complete industrial chain and a worldwide service network for full-lifecycle support, and actively participates in setting international maritime standards. The group is committed to working with industry partners worldwide on technological innovation and green shipping advancement, so as to foster jointly a greener, smarter, and more sustainable global maritime industry.
The event brought together over 200 distinguished guests from more than 80 leading companies worldwide, including major shipowners such as MSC, Maersk, Peter Döhle, L&B, AL, Hapag-Lloyd, MPC, Briese, Hafnia, Torm, GCC, Seatankers, SFL, Schoeller, QatarEnergy, Stena, Gotland, EBE, and RAY, as well as representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Germany, industry associations, financial institutions, classification societies, shipbrokers, and system suppliers.
Prior to the conference, CSSC secured newbuilding orders for a series of large container ships, MR2 product oil tankers and LNG dual-fuel PCTCs, with a total contract value exceeding USD 2.4 billion. Zhai Qian, Minister for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Germany, witnessed the group signing ceremony.

On April 20, 2026, HANNOVER MESSE 2026, the world’s largest international trade fair for industrial technology and a premier platform for industrial design, manufacturing, application, and trade, opened in Hanover, Germany. Mr. Zhao Tongbin, Vice President of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), attended the event and participated in a series of business visits. CSSC organized 17 secondary companies to appear under the unified CSSC brand.

CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding Hits Suezmax Milestone
Recently, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (QBS) have inked a contract with a renowned Greek owner for the construction of one Suezmax tanker. This latest deal brings the total number of QBS’s Suezmax orders to three, marking the significant entry of the shipyard into this key ship type newbuilding segment.

CSSC Wins First Annual Product Tankers Order from European Shipowner
On January 16, 2026, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC) signed shipbuilding contracts with a renowned European shipowner for 2 firm plus 2 option units of 114,000 DWT product tankers, marking CSSC’s first product tanker order in 2026.
