One additional 24000TEU Container ship Ordered by Evergreen

On March 23，2022，China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group)Co., Ltd. (Hudong-Zhonghua), two subsidiaries of CSSC, secured an order for the construction of one additional 24000TEU container vessel with Evergreen Group (Evergreen). Following this vessel, Evergreen has ordered seven (7) units 24000TEU container vessels from CSSC affiliated shipyards. Currently, the construction of the preceding six vessels has progressed smoothly according to the schedule, and the construction quality and progress control have been commended by Evergreen.

Hudong-Zhonghua is one of the large container vessels construction enterprises under CSSC and it has accumulated plenty construction and delivery experience in this field. This project is the third cooperation between CSTC, Hudong-Zhonghua and Evergreen. The contracted vessel is still independently designed by Hudong-Zhonghua and adopts the technical design concept of green environmental protection, high efficiency, energy conservation and safety. The contracted vessel will be built in accordance with tier III requirements, and its intellectual property rights owned by Hudong-Zhonghua. The contracted vessel adopts the bulb bow design by Hudong-Zhonghua and is equipped with large-diameter propeller and energy-saving duct, which makes the vessel have the advantages of rapidity and low energy consumption, the performance indexes have reached the international advanced level.

This contracted project is also the fifth project among CSTC, shipyards belong to CSSC and Evergreen, with total 35 units various container vessels. Since 2018, for the first time CSTC together with Jiangnan Shipyard undertook four 2500TEU container vessels for Evergreen, CSTC keeps close communication with the relevant teams of Evergreen on ship technology and sharing shipping market information, etc., and the two sides have also established deep friendship and full trust through previous cooperation. The contract signing further consolidates and deepens the cooperative relationship between CSSC and Evergreen Group, and also fully demonstrates the profound brand advantages accumulated by CSSC in the large container ship field for design and construction, and further enhances the market share of large container ships .Moreover, CSTC will also improve the service quality and provide solid support for serving regular customers and enhancing the brand awareness of the CSSC group.
