(Summary description)Recently, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd.,(Jiangnan Shipyard), two subsidiaries of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), signed newbuilding contracts for two (2) units of 175000 cbm LNG carriers with ADNOC L&S, a subsidiary of ADNOC, which is a breakthrough for Jiangnan Shipyard.

Recently, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd.,(Jiangnan Shipyard), two subsidiaries of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), signed newbuilding contracts for two (2) units of 175000 cbm LNG carriers with ADNOC L&S, a subsidiary of ADNOC, which is a breakthrough for Jiangnan Shipyard. It’s a benchmark that Chinese shipyard directly cooperates with the international first class oil and gas company in LNG newbuilding sector.
The vessel type of this project is 175,000 cbm LNG carrier (“LNG JUMBO”) which is independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipyard based on the latest international LNG carrier design concept with the characteristics of mainstream, reliable, energy-saving and environment-friendly. A number of low-carbon and energy-saving technologies which makes the comprehensive economic performance reach the international leading level are applied, such as the use of partial reliquefaction system which will improve energy efficiency utilization, the new dual fuel propulsion system technology which will meet the Tier III IMO NOx and SOx emission limitation, the iCER system for main engines which will be in line with the green environmental protection. In addition, the vessels are applicable for most ports.
The successful contract signing marks that Jiangnan Shipyard has officially entered the market of large-scale LNG carrier, which has laid a solid foundation for forming a stable LNG carrier construction capacity, helped to expand and increase the proportion of high value-added vessels and further enhance its comprehensive competitiveness. At the same time, the cooperation with ADNOC will significantly promote the CSSC's international influence in the LNG market.
