The world’s largest! 2 TLC Floating Drydocks signed

On May 9, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd (CSTC) & CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding (QBS), two subsidiaries of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC), successfully signed one 93,500 TLC Floating Drydock and one 120,000 TLC Floating Drydock construction contracts with Carnival Corporation and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd online.
The signing of the two projects is another cooperation between the world’s largest cruise company(Carnival Corporation) and the world’s largest shipbuilding group(CSSC), which indicates the brand trust to CSSC from the two international cruise companies, and further more strengthens the leading position of CSSC in the floating drydock construction field.
Registered with LR classification society, the two floating drydocks will be used for the repairing and conversion work of the cruise ships owned by the two groups. They will become one of the largest floating drydocks in the world after delivery, which can satisfy the world’s largest cruise’s dock repairing requirement.
All parties have sincerely cooperated and jointly faced the challenges of the epidemic, which will make the contribution for the recovery of the luxury cruise market.

Recently, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (QBS) have inked a contract with a renowned Greek owner for the construction of one Suezmax tanker. This latest deal brings the total number of QBS’s Suezmax orders to three, marking the significant entry of the shipyard into this key ship type newbuilding segment.
