2021-02-25
On 25th February, CSTC and Qingdao Beihai Shipyard named and delivered an 180,000 DWT bulk carrier JI NAN to CSIC Leasing. Representatives of all parties signed the delivery documents.

JI NAN is the 40th 180,000 DWT bulk carrier delivered by Qingdao Beihai Shipyard, with 292 meters in length, 45 meters in width, 24.80 meters in depth, and 16.1 meters of design draft, meeting the requirements of the latest HCSR specifications. After times of upgrades, this type of vessels has been fully optimized in terms of safety and efficiency.
JI NAN, the first in a series of vessels, encountered COVID-19 during the construction process. CSTC actively coordinated all parties of the project and worked together to overcome the impact of the pandemic and promote the construction of the vessel. Under the joint efforts of all parties, this project has set a record in Beihai Shipyard for the shortest dock-outfitting period for 180,000 DWT bulk carriers, which ensured the smooth delivery of the vessel.

On the same day, JI NAN was officially delivered to the charterer RWE at the anchorage of Beihai Shipyard. The vessel's maiden voyage will be to DAMPIER, Australia, to transport iron ore back to China. RWE is one of the three giants of European energy groups, ranking 183rd in the Fortune Global 500. The cooperation with European charterers in the form of operating lease marks that CSTC has established a new type of cooperative relationship with international large shippers and charterers.
