Contract for two 2700TEU container ships with CU Lines signed

On February 15th, 2022, CSTC together with CSSC Huangpu Wenchong, two subsidiaries of CSSC, signed a contract for two 2700TEU container ships with CU Lines. Li Yibo, Chairman of Guangzhou Port, Song Xiaoming, Vice President of Guangzhou Port, Chen Honghui, chairman of CU Lines, Ding Wei, Executive Vice President of CU Lines, Xiang Huiming, Chairman of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong, Li Xi, Vice President of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong and representatives of CSTC attended the signing ceremony.
With Loa of 188.8m, width of 32.2m and draft of 11.5m, this ship is designed by SDARI and is equipped with AMP which has the advantage of energy-saving and environment-friendly and meets the latest requirements of EEDI III and Tier III.
Founded in 2005 and 20% held by Guangzhou Port, in recent years CU Lines has become a famous liner, running over 30 container ships and owning many international lines. CU Lines had signed four 1900TEU container ships with CSTC and CSSC Huangpu Wenchong last January. All the four 1900TEU container ships are under well construction.
The signing of two ships helps CSSC Huangpu Wenchong get the first newbuilding order in the year of the Tiger in China. And it will help strenthen the relationships between CSTC, CSSC Huangpu Wenchong and CU Lines.

CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding Hits Suezmax Milestone
Recently, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (QBS) have inked a contract with a renowned Greek owner for the construction of one Suezmax tanker. This latest deal brings the total number of QBS’s Suezmax orders to three, marking the significant entry of the shipyard into this key ship type newbuilding segment.

On January 16, 2026, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC) signed shipbuilding contracts with a renowned European shipowner for 2 firm plus 2 option units of 114,000 DWT product tankers, marking CSSC’s first product tanker order in 2026.
