CSTC and Hudong-zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. get order for 3 LNG ships

On June 30th, 2020, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., Petrochina International Co., Ltd., COSCO Shanghai LNG Investment Co., Ltd. and COSCO Oil Transportation Co., Ltd. held a video on-line contract-signing ceremony for building and chartering of three 174,000 m3LNG carriers. Mr. Sun Wei, Vice President of CSSC, Mr. Sun Yunfei, Vice President of COSCO, Mr. Tian Jinghui, Vice President of Petrochina Co., Ltd. and Executive Director of Petrochina International Co., Ltd., Mr. Li Hongtao, Chairman of CSTC, and Mr. Chen Jianliang, Chairman of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. attended the ceremony and witnessed the contracts-signing.
Mr. Wu Aijun, Vice President of CSTC, and Mr. Chen Jun, President of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., as the Seller's representatives, Mr. Zhang Tong, Vice President of Petrochina International Co., Ltd., Mr. Cong Jian, Managing Director of COSCO Shanghai LNG Investment Co., Ltd. and Mr. Ji Ming Si, Vice President of COSCO Oil Transportation Co., Ltd., as the Buyer's representatives, signed the shipbuilding contract. Meanwhile, the chartering contract for the 3 LNG ships was also signed.
Within the framework of the contract, three 174,000 m3LNG carriers will be Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd.'s fourth generation of LNG ships. The new generation of LNG carriers, indigenously designed and developed by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., with overall length of 295 meters, moulded width of 45 meters, moulded depth of 18.3 meters, can cruise at a speed of 19.5knots. All these ships will be equipped with the latest generation of DFDE system, which will much benefit the user by means of better performances and lower energy consumption.

CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding Hits Suezmax Milestone
Recently, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (QBS) have inked a contract with a renowned Greek owner for the construction of one Suezmax tanker. This latest deal brings the total number of QBS’s Suezmax orders to three, marking the significant entry of the shipyard into this key ship type newbuilding segment.
