CSTC and Hudong-Zhonghua delivered the CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE, CMA CGM Group’s new flagship, and the first 23 000 TEU vessel in the world powered by liquefied natural gas

On September 22nd, CSTC and Hudong-Zhonghua successfully named and delivered the world's first liquefied natural gas propulsion 23,000 TEU container vessel to CMA CGM at Changxing shipbuilding base in Shanghai. As the most widely concerned "Star" in the industry, the delivery of the vessel shows the strong construction capability of CSSC as an international first-class shipbuilding group, marks the great victory of Hudong-Zhonghua in accelerating the industrial structure adjustment, as well as a great achievement in China shipbuilding industry.

The CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE, 400m long, 61m wide, and with a 16m draught, is equipped with the world's largest dual fuel power w12x92df main engine, developed and manufactured by WinGD(a subsidiary of CSSC).This type of engine boasts state-of-the-art innovations that enable an optimization of its energy efficiency and air preservation quality. It enables a 99% reduction in sulfur oxides and fine particle emissions, an 85% reduction in nitrogen oxides emissions,and 20% less CO2,far exceeding the existing regulation.Because of its remarkable qualities in environment protection, and energy efficiency, this "Giant" has become the "wind vane" of new orders of the major Liners in the world.

The first 23000TEU dual fuel container vessel, named after its founder JACQUES SAADE, is regarded as the "flagship" by CMA CGM. Under the guidance of the "One Belt and One Road" initiative, the vessel will be an excellent messenger between CSSC and CMA CGM, continuously paints magnificent chapters of international friendship and cooperation.
