CSTC and SWS sign two 7000TEU container ships with CU Lines

(Summary description)On February 25, 2022, CSTC together with SWS signed two 7000TEU container ships with CU Lines. Chen Honghui, Chairman of CU Lines, Ding Wei, Executive Vice President of CU Lines, Wang Qi, Chairman of SWS, Chen Gang, CEO of SWS, Wu Aijun, Vice President of CSTC and other guests attended the signing ceremony.

On February 25, 2022, CSTC together with SWS signed two 7000TEU container ships with CU Lines. Chen Honghui, Chairman of CU Lines, Ding Wei, Executive Vice President of CU Lines, Wang Qi, Chairman of SWS, Chen Gang, CEO of SWS, Wu Aijun, Vice President of CSTC and other guests attended the signing ceremony.

With LOA of 272.5m, width of 42.8m and draft of 15m, these two ships are designed by SDARI and meet the requirements of EEDI III and IMO Tier III. Equipped with AMP and scrubber, these two ships are efficient and environment-friendly.

Founded in 2005, with 20% of the shares held by Guangzhou Port, CU Lines is an international container liner company based in Shanghai. CU Lines has expanded rapidly in recent years and now runs over 30 container ships on many international lines. 

CU Lines placed two orders within ten days, which fully reflects the trust and support of CU Lines to our company and CSSC’s shipyards. With the signing of the two 7,000 TEU container ships, SWS has maintained its position as the world's largest intermediate container shipbuilder. The corporation between CSTC/SWS and CU Lines contributes to the stability and smooth flow of China's export supply chain and shows the responsibility of local enterprises.

CSTC made three vessel deliveries in late June with QBS/HZ/SWS

On June 26th, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd.(CSTC) together with CSSC QINGDAO BEIHAI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. (QBS) delivered one 210,000 DWT Bulk Carrier, named “China Champion”, the second vessel of this new building series ordered by CHINESE MARITIME TRANSPORT LTD. (“CMT”). Mr. Peng Shixiao, Chairman of CMT, Mrs. Wu Surong, the Godmother of the vessel, Mr. Tsunetaka Mori, Managing Director of ITOCHU (China), Mr. Gu Kechao, Vice General Manager of BEIHAI, attended the naming and delivery ceremony. Mr. Dai Shengjian, General Manager of CMT, Mr. Yang Shuzhen, Vice General Manager of BEIHAI, and Mr. Wu Aijun, Vice President of CSTC signed the PODA representing the parties.

A Smooth Christening Ceremony was held for Two Capesize Vessels

On May 9th, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd.(CSTC) and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.(SWS), two subsidiaries of China State Shipbuilding Corporation(CSSC), successfully delivered one 190,000 DWT LNG-powered dual fuel bulk carrier to Anglo American. As another sister vessel is scheduled to be delivered recently, a grand naming ceremony was held for both vessels in Shanghai at the same day.

CSTC/SWS win 2 newbuilding orders of114K DWT product oil tankers

On April 25, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS) and Tai Chong Cheang Group (TCC Group) signed contracts for the construction of two units of 114,000 DWT product/crude oil tankers in Shanghai. TCC Group Chairman and CEO Mr. Kenneth Koo, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Edward C.H. Koo, Managing Director Mr. Gary Cheung, SWS Chairman Mr. Wang Qi, President Mr. Chen Gang, CSTC Vice President Mr. Wu Aijun and other relevant leaders and guests attended the signing ceremony. Mr. Edward C.H. Koo, Mr. Chen Gang and Mr. Wu Aijun signed the construction contract on behalf of all parties.

One 85000DWT Bulk Carrier delivered to Seacon

On April 24,2023,China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) and CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (HPWS), two subsidiaries of CSSC, smoothly delivered one 85000DWT bulk carrier, the second one of four sister vessels ordered by Seacon Shipping Group Holdings Limited (Seacon), in Nansha of Guangzhou.
