CSTC and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard, two subsidiaries of CSSC, successfully signed the contracts for the construction of 6 large LNG carriers of 174,000 cubic meters. Mr. Kazuya Hamazaki, Executive Officer of MOL,Mr. Chen Jun, President of HUDONG-ZHONGHUA, and Mr. Wu Aijun, Vice President of CSTC signed these contracts online. Guests from CNOOC, COSCO, MOL and CSSC attended the ceremony.

It's 299 meters long, 46.4 meters wide, 26.25 meters deep, has a speed of 19.5 knots, and is equipped with the latest generation GTT-NO96 Super+ cargo containment system. It has the characteristics of good & fast performance, a smaller light weight and lower comprehensive energy consumption, wider compatibility between ship and shore, smart operation and maintenance, and strong adaptability of the liquid cargo handling system to different routes, which has reached the world's top level in terms of energy consumption indicators, environmental performance and reliability requirements.
Under the Guidance of the national "Carbon Emission Peaking" and "Carbon Neutrality" goal and energy strategy, China has surpassed Japan in 2021 to become the largest LNG importer. This successful signing of these contracts shows the CSSC, working together with COSCO SHIPPING and domestic energy giants once again, has played an active and important role in building China's LNG transportation industry chain, expanding the diversification of natural gas resource imports, ensuring the safety of the national energy structure and the transportation safety, and realizing our national Carbon-Free goal by 2050.
