One 62,000 DWT Heavy-Lift Multi-Purpose vessel delivered

On February 18,2022, one 62,000 DWT Heavy-Lift Multi-Purpose vessel “HERBERT” was delivered to Bank of Communications Financial Leasing(BOCOMM) by CSTC and Chengxi Shipyard, two subsidiaries of CSSC.The delivered vessel will be chartered to Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company. Representatives of all parties signed the delivery documents together.

Mr. Marek CIESIELCZUK , Consul General of Poland in Shanghai and Mrs. Beata CIESIELCZUK, Maciej LEPICKI, General Manager of Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company, Qiu Bo, Deputy Managing Director of Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company,Chi Chao,Deputy Head of Shipping Finance of Bank of Communications Financial Leasing,Liang Miao, Shipping Assets Department General Manager of Bank of Communications Financial Leasing, Lu Ziyou, Chairman of Chengxi Shipyard, Zhou Jianxiang, Vice President of Chengxi Shipyard, and representatives of CSTC attended the naming and delivery ceremony. Mrs. Monika WIECHNA, Godmother of the delivered vessel, cut the ribbon and named the Vessel“HERBERT”.
With Loa of 199.90m, breadth of 32.26m, design draft of 11.3m and service speed of 14.4knots, HERBERT is the second vessel of four 62,000 DWT heavy-lift multi-purpose vessels project. The vessel is featuring green, energy saving and environmental-friendly and meets the requirements of EEDI Phase Ⅲ, NOx Tier Ⅲ and latest SOx emission requirements.
Shipyards of CSSC have built more than 50 vessels for BOCOMM, with an amount of more than RMB 20 billion. HERBERT will be managed by Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company (Chipolbrok), which is the first joint venture in China and has made important contributions to the economic construction in the early period of the funding of the P.R. China. Chipolbrok has built a bridge of friendships between Chinese and Polish people.
Though the project was signed and constructed during the COVID-19 pandemic, CSTC, Chengxi Shipyard, and BOCOMM worked together to overcome the difficulties and made the Vessel delivered about one and a half months ahead of the contract delivery date. The smooth delivery has built a solid foundation for all parties’ future cooperation.
